In Oct 2013, Bradfield launched thiNK, a free drawing festival for people of all ages as part of the Campaign For Drawing’s international BIG DRAW Festival.
thINK is an exciting new interactive drawing experience that Bradfield first conceived in early 2013, using interactive, collaborative drawing games to think about how our brains make connections. Participants spend a full day immersed in drawing games & puzzles designed to make them think & draw in new ways. They can add to each other’s ideas and learn from each other as they draw.
As part of the 2013 festival, participants created interconnected A4 panels to add to the Brain Tree, a huge evolving drawing mural. The festival culminated in an exhibition of drawings from all age groups, and visitors could create more drawings to add to the exhibit.
The week was documented by Rogan Brown from FilmWorks Tasmania, and made into a wonderful short film, which was also on display at the exhibition.
We also received some fantastic entries for the Weekly Drawing Challenge, as part of the lead up to the festival.
We also want to express a heartfelt THANK YOU to our fantastic sponsors, who came to the call at very short notice and enabled this event to happen! Our major sponsors:
The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative supporting the arts in regional and remote Australia. Delivered in Tasmania in partnership with Tasmanian Regional Arts.
With additional support from:
And our creative partner Film Works Tasmania, who filmed the event!
